Well, here we are again... FINALLY!

It's been FOREVER since I've done updates and I feel really bad but its been a long couple of months for us here.

I FINALLY got my new truck after the incident with the stupid bear. big grin

I've been working crazy hours at the bar (between 10 -14 every day), so after that and then chores, I just didn't have any energy left for anything else I'm afraid.

We were forced to move the animals into a new barn close to where Mark's dad keeps his cattle so that was pretty hectic as well... and then there was the issues with the roof leaking!! mad

So now that we're all settled back in and things are back on track, I finally managed to get some updates done on here.

I won't be able to get any new pics for a little while thou, hopefully I don't get TOO many ppl requesting them for a little bit.

Mark has been spending a lot more time in the barn lately, which means I've got TONS of babies... BIG SHOCKER THERE!!! lol

That's all for now, hope to see everyone at Barrie on the weekend.

big grin Happy Birthday to Me big grin

Well lots has been happening around here lately... it's been a very hectic week or so.

I'm working alot of late hours at a new bar in town, cooking up a storm so pictures have been difficult to get done. Slowly but surely I'll get them posted thou.

I had many litters due (10) but unfortunately didn't get many babies out of it all (6 litters; 14 babies). I've got more breedings done that will hopefully be weaned and the mothers back in shape quickly as it's alot of my good show stock... fingers crossed.

I had finally made my decision to keep the larger of the two Red Lionheads from the Lucy X Abe litter... came into the barn this morning to find the poor little bugger died in the night. mad

To top everything off, we had a close encounter of the bear kind this week... it actually ran out of the ditch beside hwy 12 and right into the side of my car!!! Everyone's good, no injuries and the stupid bear was gone before we even got pulled over!

If we didn't have bad luck, we wouldn't have any. lol

Hello All!

I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone that's contacted me recently know that things are just a little hectic here lately so please be patient with me in my replies. I'm just switching jobs and was working round the clock this week, plus we had some family tragedy sad

I usually can answer emails daily due to my constantly being on the internet on my cell phone but lately it won't allow me to reply so email has been a tad tricky.

As you can all see, I'm still trying to clean house here... next show I'm hoping to attend is Powassan on the 13th but I'm not really sure if I'll make that one or not.

I've got some gorgeous little ones here lately that I'm very excited about... my Adrian babies all arrived safely and are doing well (2 litters; 1 black tort in one litter, 3 black tort and 1 blue tort in the second litter) all 5 are PB DM and look promising. There's also a litter from my little F1 red Lion, Abe... the last before he left us... 7 in total, 4 reds and 3 frosties. The frosties are a little tricky to tell but I've got at least 3 DM reds... these guys have the TINIEST little ears! lol

As soon as I get things settled down around here I'm planning on getting some more pictures taken as I've had lots of requests but just no time and energy.

Today was my first day to just do what I wanted to do so Hope (opal Netherland doe) and I went out and played in the grass for a half hour this afternoon LOL.tongue

GREETINGS!

I've decided to start a blog and see how it progresses as I'm finding myself constantly adding little "updates" to each rabbits bio and it's been taking up an awful lot of room lol.

Today I came into the barn to find nearly all my babies have begun to open their eyes... 7 out of 12!

Went to the show in Schomberg yesterday... we all nearly froze our butts off!!! WOW was it ever cold and windy. Our tent continually needed to be retied and weighted to keep it from trying to fly away. One wall threw a table over, another smacked into a show cage and send Doris Brady's doe and litter french lops flying! It was a very long and chilly day but all and all a good one!

I took 7 rabbits from my 3 breeds to show and we came home with some good results.

China - 2nd SSD Holland (8 in class)

Bruiser - 7th SSD Holland (8 in class)

Drake - 1st BJB Holland (2 in class)

Hope - 1st SSD Agouti Netherland (1 in class); BOV

Julius - 1st SSB AOV Netherland (1 in class); BOV; judges mention

Bebe - 2nd SSD Lionhead (2 in class)

Genna - 1st SSD Lionhead (2 in class); BOB (5 in breed)

Liz was our judge at this show and it was her first time with the Lionheads. I think she did pretty well with them and I'm very happy with Genna winning BOB as she was up against some very nice animals. She also recieved a mention on the Best Fancy judging and Liz seems excited to continue seeing the Lionheads come out. Hopefully now that they've passed in DRCBA, we'll get some more competition in the breed from others and also I hope I continue to do well with mine on the tables. big grin
